I was woken up by the ringing of my phone. When I picked up, it was my friend Melody. She told me that she needed some help printing her assignment as the printer in her house was broken. I told Melody that there was an old printer in my house and that I would check out if it was there.

I quickly changed my clothes and hurried to the kitchen to have my breakfast. I had a cup of milk and asked my mom if she knew where the printer was. She told that it was in the attic, upstairs.

I went to the attic and started searching for the printer. I was curious to find old stuff in the attic, the stuff that my mom used when she was a child. I searched everywhere, and within a few minutes, I found the printer. It was in a box and there was a little note written on the paper. I wasn’t in the mood of reading anything, so I called my little sister to come upstairs, to help me carry it as it was very heavy.

I put the old printer near the table where my new computer was kept. By then, I was so tired and went to the living room and switched on the television. I wanted to have a snack so I went to the kitchen and took a delicious packet of chips and started eating it while watching the television.

Melody again called. So, I went to my room and started my work. I didn’t know how to start the printer. There were three buttons in the printer; green, red, and yellow. I pressed the green button and nothing happened. I didn’t know which one to press on. So, I asked my dad and he instructed to press the yellow button.

I accidentally pressed the red button. Out came a sheet which was printed in red. It was written ’help me’. When I read the paper, I was in for a shock. I didn’t know what to do and who was asking me for help.

In the evening, melody came to take her assignment. I explained her all that happened, and she told me that the same thing had happened to the computer which was in Melody’s grandma’s house. Melody told that it was dangerous keeping a printer which did strange things so, her grandma got rid of it.

But when I pushed the yellow button, the printer worked normally, just like an ordinary printer. Before going home, Melody warned me not press the red button. When Melody went home, my mom told that my old friend Lily invited me to her house for dinner that night. I was so excited that I ran to my room and even started selecting a dress that I could wear. I hadn’t seen Lily for so many years. When I was in grade one, she also studied with me in the same class, but she moved to some other place forever. She went to a new school.

I was thrilled to bits to see Lily. I took a fresh and a refreshing shower. When I finished my shower, I remembered about the story Melody told me that morning. Without thinking much I put on my new dress, combed my hair. Dad gave me a ride to lily’s house

Lily came out greeted me warmly. She was very happy to see me and told me all about the place she went. She even told me that she missed me a lot. After dinner, my father came and picked me up. When I reached home, I was so tired that I went straight to my room.

As soon as entered the what struck me was that the the printer was not there and there was a strange old lady sitting on my bed. The lady told me that she was waiting for me.

I screamed as loud as I could, but the lady stopped me. She told me that I should not use the printer and I should have read the note that wrote. The old lady told that once she had that printer and she didn’t use it for a long time, and one day she sold it in a jumble sale. She told that my dad bought it from her. That was how the printer ended up in my house.

I didn’t know what to say. Soon the lady disappeared to thin air. The printer also went with her. I ran to my mom and dad and told everything that had happened. It was hard for them to believe.

The End.
